Helwan University’s Engineering Students Invent A Smart Glove For Hemiplegics

Avatar

Hemiplegia is a bodily disease that affects nerve signals coming from the brain, causing paralysis on one side of the body and difficulty in operating one’s hands.

Now, engineering students from Helwan University were able to design gloves that help to treat hemiplegia

The smart glove comes along with an application that digitally controls the technology.

The glove moves itself, making it easier for the patient to perform hand exercises that encourage muscle movement, helping them to counteract the effects of their hemiplegia and work against its advancement.

The device, if released, would be offered at a low cost giving patients access to an intensive, at home treatment.
