How Egyptians Celebrated Saudi National Day In Egypt

Manar Eissa

As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day, Egyptians and Saudi Arabians hit in the festivities together, reflecting the strong historical and cultural bonds between the two nations. While Saudi National Day primarily honors the unification of the Kingdom in 1932, its influence extends far beyond the borders of Saudi Arabia, particularly resonating in Egypt, a country with a deep-rooted connection to the Gulf state.

Cultural Solidarity and Celebrations in Egypt

In a heartwarming gesture expressing the strong relations and brotherhood between the two countries, Egypt’s Administrative Capital Authority lit up the iconic tower in the Central Business District with the Saudi flag as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s celebrations of its 94th National Day.

Many Egyptians express solidarity by actively participating in the celebrations, often adorning Saudi flags and wearing green clothing to represent the Kingdom’s national color. Whether in universities, workplaces, or social circles, Egyptians join their Saudi friends in honoring the day, reflecting the spirit of friendship between the two nations.

The Spirit of Arab Unity

Saudi National Day has come to symbolize more than just national pride for Saudis—it has also become a day of Arab unity. In Egypt, the day serves as a powerful reminder of the mutual respect and shared aspirations between the two countries. From diplomacy to everyday social interactions, Egyptians and Saudis continue to strengthen their bonds, driven by a deep sense of solidarity and collaboration.
