Amr Warda, a player for the Greek team Atromitos, approached FIFA to represent the Greek national team instead of the Egyptian national team.

Amr Warda has been absent from the Egyptian national team since 2019, specifically in the African Cup of Nations held in Egypt, where he participated for 26 minutes in the match between Egypt and South Africa, in which Egypt lost 1-0 in the round of 16.

Warda also played before the round of 16 match against the Zimbabwe national team for 19 minutes, in the first round of the group stage, which ended with the Egyptian national team winning 1-0.

After that, Amr Warda was never summoned to the Egyptian national team’s camps, so the 30-year-old decided to represent the Greek national team.

Amr Warda said in exclusive statements to Yalla Kora: “People from the Football Association told me that I would never play for the Egyptian national team, and I got the Greek Passport and asked FIFA to represent the Greek national team instead of the Egyptian national team because they did not want me back.”

It is worth noting that the controversies revolving around Warda extend to severe lengths. The player has allegedly sexually harassed women in Egypt, The UAE, and Greece.

Although he wasn’t officially charged with anything, women have come forward with evidence incriminating the player.
