“I Promise You Paradise” Wins The Rail D’Or For Best Short Film At Cannes

“I Promise You Paradise” just won an award at Cannes!

After its world premiere within the Critics’ Week section at the 76th Cannes Film Festival,  Morad Mostafa’s “I PROMISE YOU PARADISE” is coming home with the Rail d’Or award for best short film in the Critics’ Week competition.

The movie is the first Egyptian movie to win such an award!

The Rail d’Or is a prestigious award given by a jury of 100 film critics, it was given to Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Julia Ducournau, two well-known directors.

Additionally, Cairo International Film Festival Meanwhile, announced the selection of the movie to participate in the short film competition in the festival’s 45th edition which will be held from November 15 to 24th.

The movie follows the story of 17 years old Eissa, an African migrant in Egypt is in a quest against time to save his loved ones whatever it takes.

The film is written by Morad Mostafa and Sawsan Yusuf, and directed by Morad Mostafa.
