The Disturbing Video

A viral video recently circulated on social media of a 51-year-old woman, Fawziya Ahmed, verbally and physically assaulting her 90-year-old mother, Samira Mohamed, with her hand and with a wooden stick.

The incident took place inside their home in the village of Behnabay, located in the Sharqia Governorate.

The visual evidence quickly sparked outrage among social media users, with many demanding swift action against Fawziya.

Ministry of Interior’s Swift Response

The Ministry of Interior acted quickly in response to the viral video. Authorities launched an investigation to clarify the details of the incident. Within a short time, they identified both women from the footage and initiated steps to hold Fawziya accountable.

Fawziya was detained by the police, and during questioning, she admitted to the assault.

However, she explained that her actions were motivated by fear for her mother’s safety rather than malicious intent.

She claimed that Samira suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and that she was attempting to prevent her from leaving the house, fearing for her well-being.

The wooden stick used in the incident was recovered by police, supporting the claims made by Fawziya during her confession. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as authorities work to determine the full scope of the situation.

“I Want My Daughter Back”

Despite the physical violence depicted in the video, Samira Mohamed, the elderly mother, chose not to pursue legal action against her daughter.

She expressed that Fawziya takes care of her daily and has always provided the necessary support for her well-being.

“I want my daughter back,” Samira said, emphasizing that the incident was not intentional. She called for the authorities to drop the charges against Fawziya, insisting that the assault was not a result of malice, but rather an extreme reaction stemming from concern for her safety.

Public Outrage

The video caused a significant outcry on social media, with many condemning Fawziya’s actions and demanding legal consequences. The public response was one of shock, anger, and disbelief that a daughter could treat her elderly mother in such a way, regardless of the circumstances.
