Initial Investigation Found The Reason Behind The Ard El Golf Building Collapse

Egyptian Civil Protection Services and the Cairo Governor revealed the reason behind Ard El Golf building collapse

On Tuesday morning, Ard El Golf area in Al Nozha witnessed the collapse of a 4-storey building. The collapse of the property resulted in the death of an elderly woman and the injury of 4 people who were rescued from under the rubble of the property.

The civil protection services promptly rushed to the scene of the incident to begin the search and rescue efforts.

Casualties:

The General Administration of Civil Protection in Cairo was able to rescue 4 injured people from under the rubble. The body of an elderly woman was also exhumed. Civil Protection is still intensifying its efforts to search for survivors. The injured were quickly transferred to a nearby hospital in order to receive the necessary treatment.

Details of the collapse:

Initial investigations by the security forces revealed that the Ard El Golf property had been a collapse risk due to it being very old and built in the early 70s of the last century. Additionally, the Governor of Cairo also revealed one of the reasons for the collapse was renovation work being done on the second floor of the building.

The investigations added that the property’s roof is made of wood and tin. It was also revealed that all the residents of the property had left it a long time ago except for those who were unable to provide alternative housing.
