Mohamed Salah broke a Premier League scoring record in Liverpool’s opening game of the season. The Egyptian King continued his passion for setting records in English stadiums, scoring a goal and assisting another. This performance led Liverpool to victory over Ipswich Town. The Liverpool fans celebrated, chanting and praising his name—”Mo Salah.”
Salah marked his new achievement with a special gesture, an arrow, which led some fans of Al Zamalek to believe he was celebrating in the style of their club’s flag. This celebration has sparked discussions among football fans.
Salah is not the only player known for this celebratory gesture. Other players, including Harvey Barnes of Newcastle United and Diogo Jota of Atlético Madrid, have also used similar celebrations.
By scoring Liverpool’s second goal in their 2-0 win over Ipswich on Saturday, Salah extended his tally of goals in the opening round of a Premier League season to nine. He previously shared the record of eight goals with Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, and Alan Shearer.
