Major Road Closure In Giza: 26th Of July Route Will Shut Down For the Monorail Project Construction

Complete Closure of 26th of July Road in Both Directions from Lebanon Square till the Start of 15th of May Bridge

Giza Governorate announced that as part of the construction works for the Monorail project, Wadi El Nile Line (Engineers – 6th of October), and the handover of the second phase of the Monorail Wadi El Nile station site within the jurisdiction of Giza Governorate, it necessitates a complete closure of 26th of July Road (main road) in both directions for a distance of 150 meters starting from Lebanon Square to before the start of 15th of May Bridge. This closure will commence from 12:00 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2027, and will continue until the completion of the works, which will be conducted around the clock.

Engineer Adel El Naggar, Governor of Giza, assigned the periodic field monitoring of the works and cooperation with the executing company to remove any obstacles. He noted that the General Directorate of Giza Traffic is coordinating with the executing company to implement the following traffic diversion:

1. Diverting traffic coming from Lebanon Square and 6th of October City and intending to continue towards 15th of May Bridge and Zamalek Club to turn right onto the service road parallel to 26th of July Street, continuing on the service road until the exit point to return to 26th of July main road towards 15th of May Bridge and Sphinx Square.

2. Diverting traffic coming from 15th of May Bridge and Tersa Club and intending to continue towards Lebanon Square and 6th of October City to proceed on the service road parallel to 26th of July Street, continuing on the service road until reaching Lebanon Square and the entrance of 26th of July Axis.

The Giza Governorate emphasized that the General Directorate of Giza Traffic has coordinated with the executing company to install necessary directional and warning signs around the works area to guide and educate citizens, and facilitate their movement. Additionally, the General Directorate of Giza Traffic has assigned necessary traffic services around the works area to ensure the required traffic flow.
