The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities explained in a statement posted on their official Facebook page that the renowned international YouTuber MrBeast did not exclusively rent out the Pyramids of Giza to sleep and film content inside the historical monument. The statement explains that the Ministry agreed to let the YouTuber film in the after-hours, not during the day.
The statement read, “In light of what has been circulating on some online news sites and social media sites regarding the famous American YouTuber MrBeast renting the Giza Pyramids area for 100 hours to film inside the area, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities confirms that this matter is completely false.”
They continued, “What is being said about the idea of renting the area is illogical and unthinkable in every way, explaining that this YouTuber did not rent the area, but rather what happened was that he merely obtained a permit to film outside of official working hours and that he had finished filming and had not, as was rumored, the area is closed during the filming period, not even for one hour.”

It was revealed from the statement that the YouTuber wanted to film multiple short films (videos) inside the Pyramids’ parameters, which is considered a tourism promotion for Egypt, especially cultural tourism, by highlighting this archaeological area and its antiquities and secrets about the ancient Egyptian civilization.
The Ministry emphasized that all legal and security measures were taken before beginning filming, which is generally the process before filming inside archaeological sites, and that the area was working at full capacity during the filming day to receive its visitors during official working hours.
The story began when MrBeast hopped on Noah Lyles’ podcast to announce that he had rented the Pyramids of Giza for 100 hours where they’d let him explore whatever he wanted, and film content inside the Pyramids’ Chambers.

In an exclusive statement given to TMZ- an American website focusing on entertainment news, the Egyptian archaeologist and former Minister of Antiquities revealed that the MrBeast was allowed to shoot his project in the Pyramids once public touring was concluded each day, and then would go sleep at a camp set up 3 to 5 miles away. This is the standard protocol for people looking to film at the Pyramids — so, there was no special treatment going on for MrBeast.
