Mohamed Fouad And Doctor Are Suing Each Other After Incident That Took Place At Ain Shams Hospital

The incident began when the artist Mohamed Fouad went to Ain Shams Specialized Hospital to treat his brother, who needed quick medical intervention for heart disease, but he entered into a verbal altercation with the doctor, which developed into the singer assaulting him with insults and slander.

The videos showed a violent quarrel between Mohamed Fouad and the doctor, while those inside the hospital tried to end the quarrel and separate them. As the video went viral, the Ministry of Interior followed the clip and directed the Criminal Investigation Department of the Cairo Security Directorate to examine the incident and uncover its circumstances.

Report Taken Against Mohamed Fouad:

A doctor at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital filed a report at the Al-Waili Police Department against singer Mohamed Fouad, accusing him of assaulting him inside his workplace at the hospital and insulting and defaming him.

The doctor explained in his report that the artist, Mohamed Fouad, came to the hospital with his brother, who needed medical intervention, but he entered into a verbal altercation with him, which developed into a quarrel and an assault with insults and defamation.

The Egyptian Medical Syndicate’s response:

Dr. Khaled Amin, Assistant Secretary-General of the Medical Syndicate, commented on the circulating video, stressing that the necessary measures are currently being taken to uncover the causes and circumstances of the incident.

“Amin,” wrote in a blog post on his personal Facebook account: “There was an assault by the singer Mohamed Fouad on a doctor and the staff working at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital, and according to the narration of those present, Fouad said to the doctor: Do you know who you are talking to?”

The Assistant Secretary-General of the Doctors Syndicate sent a message to the artist Mohamed Fouad, saying: “You are an ordinary citizen like any citizen in Egypt. You deserve the best (possible) medical service, and you have no right under any circumstances to attack the hospital’s medical and nursing staff. Even if there is negligence.” From your point of view, there are dozens of legitimate official and legal channels for complaint and reporting.”

He added: “But if you believe that you deserve special treatment because you are famous, then you deserve special accountability for the same reason.”
