Official Coordination Between Egypt and the UAE
Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in an official statement that it is in direct communication with UAE authorities following the incident.
The Egyptian consulate in Dubai has been notified and is actively coordinating with local officials to understand the situation, while also working on procedures to repatriate the body to Egypt.

The case first gained attention after rumors began circulating on social media claiming that Dr. El Awady had died. The lack of immediate official confirmation led to confusion, with conflicting accounts spreading rapidly online.
Authorities later clarified that he had last been seen inside his hotel room in Dubai and had not left for approximately 48 hours. This raised concerns and prompted further checks, eventually leading to the discovery of his body.
Dubai Police then formally notified authorities, and the Egyptian consulate was informed of the death.

His lawyer, Mostafa Magdy, confirmed that he had been missing prior to the reports of his death and that the family had already contacted Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He emphasized that no official confirmation regarding the death or its cause had been received in the early stages, highlighting the uncertainty that surrounded the case from the beginning.
