Egyptian actress Nermin El Feky revealed the absence of any official account for her on the “X” platform, especially after discovering a verified account bearing her name on the platform, which she found surprising. She also questioned, how it is possible to have a fake verified account on what’s supposed to be a credible social media platform.
El-Feky warned against interacting with this account and wrote on her personal Facebook account:
“It is truly audacious and outrageous that someone would verify a page on Twitter, one of the largest and most important platforms, and speak on my behalf. How did we reach this stage? Moreover, I don’t even have an account on Twitter. What legal consequences do these individuals face?”
