People Are Rushing To Help This Special Needs Azhari Man With His Cat’s Illness!
Helping out others is like a built-in feature in Egyptians, wherever you go, whether you’re experiencing a minor issue or just straight up in an unsolvable predicament, Egyptians are always there to help. So, it was no surprise when people piled up to help this special needs man with his cat’s illness after he was spotted carrying her anxiously around downtown Cairo.

In a video post published on Instagram, a photographer shared the story of a special needs Azhari who was walking around downtown Cairo with his cat, anxiously looking around.
Sensing the young man’s anxiety and nervousness, the photographer approached him to ask if he needed any assistance, and as the photographer expected, the man informed him that his cat, Basboosa, was sick and that he had been searching for her medicine but no avail.
The photographer unfortunately did not post whether the Azhari man had found the needed medicine for his cat, however, he posted a picture of a notebook page narrating his story.
He explained, “This beautiful, Azhari young man, intrigued me due to his clothes and the cat he was carrying, and he kept anxiously moving between places, searching for something. I approached him to ask if he needed any help, and that’s when I found that he had a mental developmental disability and that he had trouble speaking.”
He continued, “Yet, he managed to inform me that he’s from El Gharbia Governorate and that he had been searching for his cat’s medicine, but unfortunately it’s scarce and he’s scared to return home with the cat sick.”
Adding, “He kept looking at the cat lovingly, and repeating her name ‘Basboosa’ and I didn’t want to have to leave him.”
After the story went viral on social media, the photographer’s comment section was flooded with hundreds of comments from gooddoers who wanted to get the Azhari man’s contact information in order to help give him the medicine for his precious Basboosa.
This man’s story and the photographer’s and commentators’ reactions are pure examples of Egyptians’ eagerness to help, it reflects the kindness and love they have towards one another.
