President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi Raises Egyptian Flag from World’s Tallest Flagpole

The People’s Square in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt witnessed President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of the Republic, hoisting the Egyptian flag from the tallest flagpole in the world today, Tuesday.

 

Specifications of the Tallest Flagpole in the World

The height of the flagpole is 207.8 meters, equivalent to the height of the Cairo Tower, and it is equipped with speakers for playing music, beside the dancing fountain, made of solid steel weighing a total of 1040 tons.

The flagpole consists of 11 sections installed using specialized cranes, and it is adorned with a decorative golden peak.

The flagpole is an important symbol of patriotism and pride in the Egyptian identity, with the Egyptian flag fluttering proudly on it. It represents the bright future that Egypt seeks to achieve, and it has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records.

Significant location

It is worth mentioning that to the right of the People’s Square is the headquarters of the executive authority “the Government District,” and to its left are the legislative authorities “the House of Representatives and the Senate,” and next to them is also the presidential authority.

The flagpole has become a distinctive tourist destination that attracts visitors from all over the world. Hundreds of people visit the square daily to learn about this architectural masterpiece and enjoy the breathtaking views around it.
