During her tour of the Middle East to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the EU’s commissioner paid a visit to Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
According to the Presidential Spokesman, the meeting focused on the latest developments in the war on Gaza by Israel, where El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts, from receiving injured Palestinians to evacuating foreign nationals through the Rafah border crossing.
Additionally, El-Sisi also stressed the urgent need to implement the Resolutions adopted by the General Assembly and the Security Council, along with adherence to International laws, and war regulations.
He also affirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians, either within or outside of their lands, especially to Sinai, with which the European Commission President agreed.
The two parties also agreed that the peaceful solution that protects Palestinian rights’ lies with the Two-state solution.
During her visit, she will travel to Sinai, near the border with Israel, for the arrival of an EU humanitarian convoy.
The presidential spokesman also added that the meeting also touched on ways to enhance Egyptian-European cooperation, strengthening and broadening bilateral relations.
