Right Song, Wrong Place? Shkoon’s Recent Concert At The North Coast Stirred Up Controversy!

Known for their masterful blend of Arabic folklore with Western electronic music, Shkoon has captivated the Middle East with their innovative music. However, this innovation took a dark turn during their latest concert at an upscale North Coast resort.

During the latest concert, Shkoon introduced remixes of many popular songs, including El Sheikh Imam’s “Shayed Koussourak”.

Known for his controversial music, El Sheikh Imam has performed songs written by Ahmed Fouad Negm to combat classicism and capitalism while advocating for the working class.

After Shkoon performed “Shayed Koussourak” in one of the North Coast’s upscale concerts, people on social media couldn’t help but share their criticism of the song choice and location.

As “Shayed Koussourak” was written to combat severe capitalism, social media users couldn’t help but criticize the contradictory setting of the concert.
