Smouha Vs Pyramids FC Match Was Stopped After Fire Broke Out In The Stadium

Yesterday, during The Smouha Vs Pyramids FC match in Alexandria Stadium, a fire suddenly broke out in one of the backstadium booths.

The incident itself occurred 5 minutes into the second half of the match when players and attendees noticed smoke coming out of the cable room.

Firetrucks quickly rushed into the stadium to contain the fire, and ambulances were. brought in to assist in any injury.

An initial investigation done by the stadium security found a damaged electrical tower’s lighting could not be restored, and match officials decided to abandon the game with the score tied 1-1.

A statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports revealed that the Minister has directed the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Alexandria to form a committee to investigate the reason behind the fire.

The statement also explained that a detailed report on the causes of the accident would be published, in coordination with the Alexandria Governorate, to which the stadium belongs.
