Social Media Blogger Heba El Sayed Sentenced For Child Exploitation And Trafficking

Popular blogger Heba El-Sayed, the face behind the “Um Ziyad Waheba” channel, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison and fined 200,000 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, her son, Mohamed Hamdi, received a 10-year prison sentence and the same fine in absentia. Furthermore, her second husband, Hassan Sameer, was handed a life imprisonment sentence and fined 500,000 Egyptian pounds in absentia.

The investigations revealed that both the accused and her son exploited their children’s presence in videos they recorded and shared on their social media channels to increase views and generate profits.

The Public Prosecution noted that the accused displayed little regard for the content of these videos, primarily focusing on profiting from their children’s participation. Her son actively assisted her and her husband in managing these channels and capitalizing on their growing viewership.

In a video, the accused disclosed that she had caught her son sexually assaulting her daughter while they shared a room. During the investigations, the son admitted to sexually assaulting his sister on multiple occasions, corroborating his mother’s statement
