A Member from the Telecommunication Sector Denies Recharge Cards Price Increase

Rumors about recharge cards’ increase in prices flooded social media, leaving people puzzled and inquisitive.

The source said in exclusive statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm that the prices of recharge cards are still the same price and the same price per minute.

He added that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority approved mobile companies operating in Egypt to raise the prices of “Fakka cards” only, saying: “There is no change to the prices of recharge cards.”

Cellular communication companies providing telecommunications services in Egypt had submitted a request to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for approval to raise the prices of mobile services to meet the increase in costs in light of the price increase and the rise in the price of the dollar against the pound, but such requests have not been approved yet.

However, some news sites have reported news that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority had approved an increase in mobile charging prices by 10%, starting Thursday, December 28.
