The Public Prosecution has ordered the referral of the Al-Galala Road bus driver to the criminal court. He is charged with driving under the influence of morphine, a narcotic substance, and causing death and serious injury by negligence. His reckless actions while operating the bus under the influence led to a tragic accident that resulted in 13 deaths and left 30 others injured.
In response, the Public Prosecution has called on passenger transportation companies and educational institutions to implement clear and regular procedures for the periodic testing of drivers. These measures aim to ensure that drivers are not under the influence of substances that could impair their ability to safely operate vehicles and endanger passengers’ lives.
