The Iconic Mogamaa Al Tahrir Building Is Being Transformed Into A Luxury Hotel

Avatar

With the majority of government operations moving to the New Administrative Capital (NAC), iconic state buildings have been needing to find themselves a new job.

The first of which, the historic Mogamaa Al Tahrir, is being transformed into a new luxury hotel

CairoHouse, a US-led consortium, is renovating the complex building into an opulent lifestyle destination.

For more than USD 180 million in December 2021, CairoHouse, a group led by Oxford Capital Group, Global Ventures Group, and Al-Otaiba Investments, acquired the rights to renovate the Complex Building.

A new agreement between CairoHouse and the Consolidated Contractors Company, which will work with The Sovereign Fund of Egypt as the project’s general contractor, states that more than USD 200 million in refurbishment funds will be used to create the hotel.
