The Lovin Cairo Show: Power-Cuts For Load Reduction Continues Until March 2024

We’ll begin with the recent news, the Ministry of Electricity announced that the electricity loads in Egypt will continue to be reduced until next March due to a decrease in the quantities of fuel supplied to production stations to benefit from gas exports during the coming months.

Daily load reduction will range from 600 to 800 megawatts, and these capacities will be distributed to all governorates of the Republic in a period not exceeding 10 minutes, according to what officials said.

Egyptian banks suspend the use of new credit cards

Moving to the central bank, has temporarily stopped newly issued credit cards from being used for foreign transactions, both inside Egypt and abroad. This will last for 6 months starting from December 21, following recent instructions from the Central Bank.
