Wali copied four artistic drawings by the Russian artist @georgykurasovart and placed them on the walls of the ‘Kolyt El-Banat’ Metro station.

She stated that she received more than EGP684,133 for creating drawings in 3 Metro stations and investigation revealed that she copied them. As a result, Wali is banned from traveling and investigations are still ongoing.

Moving to exciting news, which is Media Production City has collaborated with a prominent film production company to restore 50 feature-length old movies that represent significant milestones in Egyptian cinema history. This initiative is carried out through the Audiovisual Heritage Revival Center within the city.

The restoration process involves transferring film footage to “4k” technology, coupled with digital restoration and color correction using state-of-the-art equipment. 

The project has already successfully completed the restoration of “Les Misérables,” directed by Atef Salem, starring Farid Shawky, Adel Adham, Mohsena Tawfik, Fardous Abdel Hamid, and Leila Elwi. The film, based on Victor Hugo’s renowned novel, was originally produced in 1978 and is now ready for re-screening in its remastered version, with efforts underway to restore the remaining films.

Lastly, and the most exciting news! Egypt has been included in the list of the 10 most searched countries to travel to in 2023 on the Google search engine, according to the French newspaper Le Monde. The 10 most searched countries included Egypt, Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus, Thailand, Malta and Morocco.

The newspaper stated that Egypt is a famous destination in people’s imagination, as it is considered the home of one of the world’s oldest civilizations with a vibrant and unique culture.
