That one scene…

However, the one scene that made the internet go absolutely crazy is when Baba Maged purposely poisoned one of the series favorite characters, Atayef, resulting in his killing and then proceeded to cry and walk through his funeral like an angel.

Controversial reactions

People have been furious as while they were in tears watching these Atayef scenes, they couldn’t help but wonder how Baba Maged managed to fake these emotions and make all these reactions in a single episode.

He was seen laughing and joking with Atayef before killing him, then was seen focused and chill while putting poison on Atayef’s pizza, then was seen shocked when the doctor told the whole orphanage of his passing, and then was seen rolling his eyeballs out like Wel’a (Ahmed Malek) and Moftah (Taha Dessouky).

But that’s not all…

This episode was heartbreaking to many and while some people praised the Mahmoud Hemida’s role and character, some took it to a personal level saying they couldn’t help but hate the evilness of his character. And rumor has it, people even think he’s this evil in real life.

Following this heated controversy and ongoing debate, several activists spoke up about the issue, trying to raise awareness of Kafala in Egypt and talking about more specific scenes that followed Atayef’s death.
