The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced the inauguration of the first ticketing kiosk in the Valley of Kings, Luxor.
Adopting a digital transformation framework, the ministry inaugurated the first self-checkout ticketing kiosk in Luxor, where foreigners and Egyptians alike can purchase tickets via the kiosk with their banking cards.
Dr. Khaled Sharif, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Digital Transformation and Supervisor of Developing Services at Archaeological Sites and Museums, stated that the use of these kiosks will be limited to payment using bank cards only as a step towards activating the Egyptian state’s directions for digital transformation.

Within the framework of the Ministry’s role as a watchdog and regulator of the tourism industry in Egypt, he pointed out the implementation of the self-service system for purchasing entry tickets to museums and archaeological sites.
The first phase aims to install and operate 40 self-service machines in 20 archaeological sites that are among the most visited sites in the country.
