Egyptian Railway Authority Tickets Face A Fare Increase

The Egyptian National Railways has increased the ticket prices of the railway trains on the “Tahya Misr” suburban line, starting Monday, January 2nd. 

As of January 2nd, the First and Second Classes and the air-conditioned Russian and VIP trains are subjected to a 12.5% increase in fares. 

On the other hand, regular Russian trains, along with developed trains, and improved “Tahya Misr” trains face a staggering 25% increase.

This decision coincides with the rise in prices of diesel and food commodities during the recent period.
