A recent statement by Egypt’s Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has sparked widespread reactions. During his speech at the Second World Conference on Population, Health, and Human Development, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar revealed that the government consulted artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT, to assess the impact of national projects launched since 2014.

According to the minister, ChatGPT responded that these projects have contributed to improving living standards, creating job opportunities, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing the quality of healthcare and education.

In response to the reactions, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar clarified that ChatGPT’s output reflects the analysis of information gathered from international institutions via search engines. He emphasized that Egypt’s large-scale projects, undertaken over the past decade, have been recognized globally and have had a tangible impact on human development across various sectors.
