The video that has ignited online fury shows a woman named Mariam Shawky filming an encounter with a man who allegedly harassed and physically bothered her while they were both riding on a public bus.
As the video unfolds, Shawky can be seen capturing the moment when the man attempts to steal her phone while she films him. In a calm but firm tone, Mariam labels him a “harasser,” warning him that his actions would not go unpunished.
However, as the situation escalated, the man’s behavior took an even darker turn when he made a derogatory comment about Mariam’s clothes. “What are you even wearing?” he says, adding an extra layer of verbal harassment on top of the already disturbing situation.
Despite being surrounded by fellow passengers, Mariam claims that no one on the bus stepped in to help or de-escalate the situation, leaving her feeling isolated and vulnerable.
