Egypt had previously announced this visa back in March, and the Egyptian Minister of Tourism had mentioned that the activation date would be announced later on.

In a statement posted on their official Facebook page on Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Interior clarified that the new visa will come into effect while the currently existing visas continue to be valid.
