An Egyptian child has sparked widespread interaction on social media in the past few hours after he appeared leading the worshippers in Taraweeh prayers amid admiration and astonishment among the congregants.

In a video clip that circulated widely across social media platforms, the child, Mohammed Al-Qalaji, appeared dressed in Azhari attire, reciting the Quran with precise and beautiful intonation that captivated everyone with his voice. He led the worshippers in one of the mosques in the country.

A captivating voice and accurate recitation

Social media users interacted with this young child due to his distinctive voice and accurate recitation despite his young age.

According to Al Arabiya website, this young boy had won first place in the Port Said International Quran competition in the field of religious chanting. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Qalaji is 11 years old and hails from Al-Nasiriya village in Sharqia Governorate, in the sixth grade. He began memorizing the Quran at the age of 4 in Sharqia Governorate, where he started with the Quranic schools, and then he went to the city of Al-Ashir min Ramadan to complete the memorization of the entire Quran. He also excelled in religious chanting and studied under senior teachers, learned musical modes, and qualified for the international religious chanting competition.
