This encounter led to a lotttt of controversy online

The phrase “You’re definitely invited” led some to believe that Helmy was implying that Egyptians were not usually in the front row, which they saw as disrespectful. Critics argued that even if it was meant as a joke, the wording gave the wrong impression. Especially in an international event like Riyadh Season.

On the other hand, Ahmed Helmy’s supporters pointed out that he is known for his sarcastic humor and quick wit. They believe the remark was an attempt at dark comedy rather than a genuine insult.
