Great news for anyone looking to stretch out their Eid Al-Fitr celebrations! The government has announced that if Monday, April 1st, is officially confirmed as the first day of Eid, then the holiday will be extended until Wednesday, April 2nd—giving everyone an extra day to soak in the festivities!
But if Eid officially begins on Tuesday, April 2nd, then the holiday period will remain as originally planned, ending on Tuesday, April 1st (which, let’s be real, still isn’t too bad).

This means that the final decision on the break depends on moon sighting, which determines the start of Shawwal, the month that follows Ramadan. So, until the official announcement is made, we’ll all just have to wait and see if we get that extra day of relaxation, family time, and of course, endless plates of kunafa and kahk!
Either way, whether it’s an extra day off or not, Eid is a time to celebrate, come together, and enjoy the little moments that make it so special. Fingers crossed for that bonus day!
