Osama shared the news through a post on Facebook, describing the project as a “purposeful program” that aims to discuss society and improve people’s understanding of life. The announcement quickly sparked widespread debate across social media.

While Osama was previously granted legal innocence in the case linked to the viral bus incident, many users questioned his suitability for a show centered around ethics. Comments poured in pointing out that judging a woman by her appearance does not align with the very morals the show claims to promote.

Others also criticized the opportunity itself. Although he did not reveal whether the show will air on TV, radio, or online, some people argued that many qualified media graduates struggle to find similar platforms, while someone without formal credentials was able to secure such a role, only because he was a ‘trend.’
However, some defended his decision, arguing that since he was legally cleared, he has the right to move forward and pursue new opportunities without being judged by anyone.

Background

The controversy traces back to a viral incident in February, when a video circulated online showing a young woman confronting a man on a bus in Maadi, accusing him of harassment. The clip sparked widespread outrage at the time, especially as bystanders appeared not to intervene.

Now, with the announcement of a show centered on morality, the conversation has resurfaced…raising ongoing debates around accountability, public perception, and who gets to speak on society’s values.
