The shutdown of Bassem Youssef’s account comes after he was featured as the “Antisemite of the Week” for posting a “StopAntisemitism” post to his Instagram. In which they warned people of his “insidious lies and dangerous narratives”, which accused him of spreading “insidious lies and dangerous narratives” through a contentious post on his Instagram.

Now, Why Exactly Did X Suspend Bassem Youssef’s Account?

What led to X suspending his account remains unconfirmed as X has not publicly commented on the matter. Activists, however, suggest it may be linked to the platform’s policies regarding discussions on Palestine. Especially in light of the conflict in Gaza since October 7th involving the Israeli military. Whether Bassem’s last post before the suspension was the final straw is up for speculation, with no official explanation provided.

Bassem has finally broken his silence about his suspended account. While he didn’t point fingers or hint at who might be responsible, he remains uncertain about recovering his account.
