In a recent update, a juvenile court in Egypt has ordered that the son of popular actor Mohamed Ramadan be placed in a social care facility.
This decision comes after an incident where the young boy allegedly got into a fight with a classmate at the New Giza Sporting club.
The lawyer representing the victim’s family, Ahmed Mokhtar, shared that the court made this ruling but did not specify how long the boy will stay in the care home.
Neither Mohamed Ramadan nor his son attended the court session. However, the mother of the boy who was hurt was present to follow the proceedings.
It started when a woman filed a complaint accusing Mohamed Ramadan’s son of physically assaulting her son.
The victim, a sixth grader at an international school in Sheikh Zayed, reportedly suffered bruises and redness on his left cheek after the incident at the club.
The victim’s mother also mentioned that Mohamed Ramadan himself witnessed the event but didn’t step in to stop his son or calm things down, which upset her deeply and motivated her to take legal action.
Following this, the October prosecution referred Mohamed Ramadan’s son to the juvenile court. The first hearing was scheduled for May 15th.
At the hearing, the defense lawyer explained that the boy had fallen ill the night before the trial upon hearing about the court date and requested a postponement due to his health.
This case has drawn attention, especially given the celebrity status of Mohamed Ramadan and the sensitive nature of juvenile justice.
