The Ministry of Education has announced that his story will be added to the grade eight Arabic curriculum, ensuring that young students grow up inspired by his bravery.

The Eid Martyr

Omar El Qady, known as the Eid Martyr, was a young lieutenant who lost his life on the morning of Eid Al Fitr in 2019. He was defending Checkpoint 14 in Arish when terrorists launched a brutal attack.

Despite being struck by three bullets and witnessing his team fall as martyrs, Omar’s voice rang out with unwavering defiance.

Bravery Until the Last Breath

In a chilling recording from that day, Omar challenged the attackers, daring them to come closer. Even as his strength faded, he urged his colleagues to bomb the checkpoint, despite still being inside, determined to stop the terrorists at any cost.

His last words carried a request that now echoes through Egypt: “Don’t forget about me.”

A Wish Fulfilled

Omar’s mother once shared in a TV interview that her son had always longed for martyrdom. He would often express his desire to meet God as a martyr, a wish that was tragically fulfilled.

His sacrifice was later highlighted in the Ramadan series El Ekhteyar, where his story touched millions of viewers and cemented his place as a national hero.

Inspiring Future Generations

Now, with his story included in school textbooks, Omar El Qady’s legacy will continue to inspire courage, sacrifice, and love for Egypt in young hearts. His memory is no longer only a part of history—it is a lesson for generations to come.
