And the part that had the internet overflowing with emotions?

When asked whether the team hesitated to air such a heavy, conflict-driven drama during Ramadan,  a season known for intense competition and high viewership stakes, Eyad Nassar answered, saying tha they did not consider ratings, trends, or rivalry with other shows. Instead, he noted that the decision was made “with conscience,” prioritizing the importance of the story itself.

Sohab El Ard, which also stars Menna Shalaby, presents interconnected human stories of love, survival, and resilience amid the Gaza conflict. At its core is a love story unfolding in the shadow of war, highlighting how hope can endure even in the most difficult circumstances.

Eyad Nassar framed the series as part of Egypt’s soft power; using art and storytelling to amplify voices and shed light on lived realities. Since the interviews aired, social media has been filled with emotional reactions. Viewers from across the region, including Palestinians and Gazans themselves, have praised the show for portraying their suffering with honesty and depth.
