Following the Footsteps of His Martyr Father: This Firefighter’s Story Captured the Heart of the Internet

Amid the chaos of the Central Ramses building fire, there was one hero whose name stood out: Lieutenant Noor Imtiaz Kamel.

A dedicated civil protection officer, Noor wasn’t just performing his duties that day—he was carrying on a legacy of bravery passed down from his father, the late Imtiaz Kamel, who was a martyr in the line of duty.

The fire, which raged through the building for over 15 hours, saw Noor not only fight flames but also embody the spirit of heroism his father had left behind.

A Legacy of Bravery

Noor’s story is far from ordinary. His father, Imtiaz Kamel, was a true hero who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 2017 Wahat terrorist attack in Giza. ISIS militants targeted Egyptian security forces, resulting in the deaths of 16 brave officers.

Imtiaz Kamel was among them, leaving behind not just a legacy of courage but a young son who would one day follow in his footsteps.

Growing up with a father who embodied sacrifice and duty, Noor was always destined to make a difference. And it was during the devastating fire at Central Ramses, where he had to confront a terrifying blaze that seemed to have no end, that Noor stepped forward with strength and courage.

The Day the Flames Took Over

The fire at the Central Ramses building was no ordinary blaze. It started on the 7th floor and quickly spread, fueled by the building’s height and the difficulty of reaching the source.

As the flames roared through the structure, the situation grew increasingly dire. But Noor and his fellow firefighters didn’t flinch. For more than 15 hours, they battled the fire, working tirelessly through thick smoke and unbearable heat. Despite the overwhelming odds, they refused to give up.

Noor’s role in this battle wasn’t just as a firefighter. He was a symbol of resilience, determination, and the continuation of his father’s legacy. Every move Noor made, every action taken, seemed to echo the bravery and the sense of duty that his father had displayed in his own service to Egypt.

A Mother’s Pride and Worry

While Noor was in the heart of the fire, another strong figure was on the other side of the situation—his mother, Sahar El-Sayed Ahmed, the wife of the martyr and the mother of the hero. As the fire raged on, Sahar’s heart was filled with mixed emotions.

She spent the entire day in prayer, hoping for his safety while knowing that his courage was unstoppable.

As Noor and his team fought the fire, Sahar felt a sense of bittersweet pride, knowing that her son was doing the work his father would have been doing, had he still been here.

The Hero That Captured the Internet’s Heart

As Noor continued to fight the fire, his bravery did not go unnoticed. Videos and photos of the heroic efforts quickly made their way to social media, where the internet exploded with praise for the firefighters, especially Noor.

The scenes of him charging through the flames, putting the safety of others above his own, touched the hearts of thousands of people across Egypt and beyond.

The internet buzzed with admiration for Noor and all the firefighters involved, with countless people expressing their gratitude. Social media was flooded with messages of thanks, support, and awe for the firefighters who risked their lives to save others.
