Gen Z Might Need Translators… This Man Is Begging Gen Z to Talk Normally at Work!

Gen Z might need translators, at least according to one man who went viral for joking about the way fresh grads write emails.

He said the challenge isn’t their work performance, but rather their language. Between endless abbreviations and cryptic shorthand, he feels like you need a codebook just to keep up.

Lost in Translation

In his video, the man explained that someone came to him frustrated about a new grad’s email habits. The emails were overflowing with abbreviations like FYI, and the poor recipient admitted he didn’t understand a thing. Instead of brushing it off, he kept blaming himself for not being smart enough to crack the code. The storyteller laughed as he shared how, at one point, the guy even wondered if the email was secretly insulting him.

A Plea to Keep It Simple

That’s when the man stepped in with a lighthearted plea: please, Gen Z, talk like normal people. He reminded them that they’re Egyptian, writing to other Egyptians, in Egyptian workplaces. There’s no need to fill every line with internet or office abbreviations that confuse more than they clarify.

The Internet Reacts

The clip quickly caught attention online, with people laughing at how relatable it felt. Commenters joked that office emails were starting to feel like escape rooms—full of clues but no clear answers. Others admitted they’d faced the same struggle, secretly Googling terms in hopes of keeping up.
