While appearing on Sha’et Taawon with Hossam Dagher, Bayoumi addressed Sallam directly, offering words that many viewers saw as sincere and overdue.

He wished him success, said he knows his true character, and emphasized that God knows what is in people’s hearts. Bayoumi added that he hopes everything passes peacefully, that Sallam understands who he truly is, and that he hopes he continues to succeed.

He ended his message with a clear apology, saying he was sorry…a simple but powerful moment after years of tension.

The 2023 moment that changed everything

The fallout between the two actors dates back to Riyadh Season 2023, at the height of the war on Gaza.

At the time, Mohamed Sallam announced that he would not travel to perform in a comedy play, in which he was supposed to play alongside Fouad, explaining that he could not bring himself to make people laugh while children in Palestine were being killed.

His decision was widely praised by many, but it also triggered strong reactions in the entertainment world.

Shortly afterward, Bayoumi Fouad appeared in a clip that quickly went viral.

In it, he said he could understand canceling a performance, but that he could not understand what he described as “insulting the profession” or abandoning one’s art. Many viewers interpreted the remarks as a direct criticism of Sallam, and the exchange quickly escalated across social media.
