Their awkward reaction made the moment even more suspicious — and it caught the attention of none other than Chris Martin, Coldplay’s lead singer.

Martin, known for his playful comments on stage, pointed at the pair and joked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

Little did he know, his offhand comment would ignite an online storm.

Within hours, internet sleuths tracked down the couple’s identities: Andy Byron, a married CEO of the software company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s head of HR.

Screenshots of their startled faces quickly spread like wildfire — and the gossip machine did the rest!

Egyptians Have Something to Say

The unexpected scandal made its way to Egyptian timelines almost instantly.

It didn’t take long for local bloggers, influencers, and everyday users to weigh in.

Many Egyptian women used the viral moment to highlight how cheaters often get exposed sooner or later, no matter how powerful they are.

One Egyptian blogger went viral herself for breaking down Byron’s public apology, calling it a typical example of a cheater who’s sorry he got caught — not for what he did.

On the flip side, some Egyptian men felt personally attacked by the online outrage.

And Egyptian billionaire and businessman Naguib Sawiris threw in his own opinion too, saying it’s unfair to turn someone’s mistake into global entertainment.

According to Sawiris, “Everyone makes mistakes, and it’s cruel to ruin a life just for clicks.
