Their first stop? The famous El-Hussein, where the heart of Old Cairo still beats strong with history and vibrant energy, and where El Sisi grew up.
From there, they strolled through the lively Khan El-Khalili market, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of this iconic spot. The hustle and bustle of the market was a perfect introduction to the charm of Egypt’s street life.
But the fun didn’t stop there! The evening ended with a delicious dinner at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant, serving up authentic Egyptian dishes in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. A perfect way to cap off a day of exploring.
Next on the agenda? A visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where Macron got an up-close look at the incredible treasures of Ancient Egypt, with Sisi ensuring he experienced the full cultural richness of the country.
And today, Macron heads to Cairo University, where students are getting a special treat with a day off to celebrate the French president’s visit. The excitement on campus is palpable as everyone looks forward to his arrival.
While the visit is filled with cultural experiences, the talks between President Sisi and President Macron are also focused on strengthening Egypt-France relations, particularly in areas of culture, security, and the economy.
The ongoing situation in Gaza will also be on the agenda, with discussions likely to address efforts to support peace.
