This Year’s Theme: The Turning Point
From the moment the summit kicked off, it was clear that RiseUp 2026 was all about reimagining the future. Held at the iconic Grand Egyptian Museum under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, the event brought together global experts, brilliant founders, and passionate creators who didn’t just talk about what’s coming, they showcased how we can shape it.
The summit was a hub for the world’s brightest minds to come together and turn ideas into tangible plans for the future.
Topics ranged from AI’s transformative role in industries to the future of e-commerce, branding, and tech entrepreneurship. It wasn’t just a conference, it was a playground for the thinkers, doers, and innovators of tomorrow.
And spoiler alert: The future is bright, thanks to the minds who are actively building it!
AI Takes the Stage: From Dreams to Reality
You couldn’t walk into a session without hearing about the buzz around AI. Whether it was exploring its role in business, healthcare, or even creative fields, AI was a major talking point.
Experts demonstrated how AI could be used to run businesses, support decision-making, and automate daily tasks. And, of course, there were deep dives into how AI is transforming the way we live and work…spoiler: it’s not just for tech nerds anymore!
One of the highlights? “How AI Will Run Your Business While You Sleep,” where attendees got a sneak peek into how automation and AI-powered tools are not just the future, they’re already here, turning businesses into well-oiled machines. It’s clear: AI’s potential is vast and growing rapidly!
Startup Pitches: The Future is Now
RiseUp Summit 2026 didn’t just focus on what’s to come, it also gave a platform to the creators of tomorrow’s unicorns. With over 400 speakers from 80+ countries, the summit was a hotbed of innovation. Startup pitches, from aspiring founders to global investors, were an essential part of the agenda.
One of the most exciting highlights was the A Ventures x RiseUp Summit Pitch Competition, where startups vied for up to $500,000 in guaranteed funding. On stage, investment commitments exceeded expectations, with Remi securing $500,000, Shadoo securing $50,000, and AI Scada securing $21,000.
These pledges show that the world is paying attention and the future of innovation is well-funded.
The competition isn’t the only place investors and startups connected. Innovative matchmaking formats, like the “Pitching Your Startup to an Investor in a Car” experience, had people talking, and curated investor meetings connected each investor with 20 startups, fostering collaboration and opening up doors for the next generation of groundbreaking ideas.
The Creative Edge: From Art to Business
Of course, it wouldn’t be RiseUp without a hefty dose of creativity! The Creative Stage was filled with dynamic talks and workshops that highlighted how creativity intersects with business.
Topics like “Not Just Steps: How Dancers Build Brands” and “Beyond the Exhibition: Curating as World-Building” showed how art, performance, and design are becoming critical pillars for business growth and engagement.
This year, the creative power was further showcased by diverse industries coming together, from fashion and sports to digital storytelling and tech. “The Comic Page, and the Animated Edit: Mastering the Art of Collaborative Storytelling” reminded everyone that creativity has the power to spark global change.
Rising Above the Challenges: Women in Tech
RiseUp 2026 also emphasized the importance of diversity in tech and entrepreneurship.
With sessions like “Breaking Barriers: Fintech Solutions for Women Affected by Migration” and discussions on women’s leadership in business, it was clear that RiseUp is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and paving the way for more women to rise in tech.
Launch of Egypt’s National Startup Charter
One of the standout moments at RiseUp 2026 was the official launch of Egypt’s “Startup Charter” on Day Three. This initiative, supported by H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, is a groundbreaking framework aimed at strengthening Egypt’s startup ecosystem.
The Charter is the result of more than a year of collaboration between 15 national entities and over 250 representatives from the startup community. It aims to empower 5,000 startups, create 500,000 jobs, and accelerate global expansion over the next five years.
This historic move marks Egypt’s growing role as a key hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Middle East and Africa.
Building the Future Together
More than anything, the RiseUp Summit was about the people. The energy of meeting like-minded innovators, discussing new ideas, and forging partnerships was palpable. With over 300 companies participating, it was a meeting point for youth employment opportunities and startup growth.
The American Chamber of Commerce Career Development Center played a leading role in creating connections, and institutions like Commercial International Bank (CIB) helped bring top talent to the table.
It wasn’t just about attending talks, it was about coming together to build a community.
The RiseUp Summit 2026 might be over, but the conversations, connections, and ideas continue to flow! RiseUp continues to cement its place as one of the region’s most influential platforms for startups, innovation, and collaboration.
