Samih Sawiris recently made some interesting comments about Ras El Hekma, and it sounds like this project could be the next big thing in Egypt. While the UAE owns the land, Sawiris was quick to point out that this development is still set to transform the area in a way that could rival Gouna.
He even mentioned that Ras El Hekma will take much less time to complete—around 3-4 years—compared to the 35 years it took to develop El Gouna.
While El Gouna’s growth took several decades, Samih Sawiris is confident that Ras El Hekma will rise much faster. Thanks to solid financial backing, the project is moving forward quickly, with plans to finish it in a fraction of the time it took for Gouna. This is a good sign for those eager to see this new hotspot come to life sooner rather than later.
One concern some people have is the UAE’s involvement in the Ras El Hekma land. Samih Sawiris reassured everyone that while the UAE owns the land, the project is still fully Egyptian. He made it clear that everything is properly documented, so there’s no need for anyone to worry about foreign control.
