Snapchat has just announced that it will start charging users for storing photos and videos over 5GB in its Memories feature. And, well, let’s just say the reactions aren’t exactly “Snap-tastic.”
For those not in the loop, Snapchat’s Memories feature lets you save all those wild pics, embarrassing videos, and that random snap of your breakfast burrito for later. It’s like a digital scrapbook that you can look back on whenever the mood strikes.
But now, if you want to store more than 5GB of memories (which is basically nothing these days with the amount of selfies we take), you’re gonna have to pay up. Yes, you read that right—Snapchat is introducing storage fees for users who exceed the 5GB limit. So much for “free storage”!
