Yesterday, During the ceremony of Egypt’s National Police Day, Ali Ramy Ali Helal, the son of martyr Rami Helal, was on stage he had a speech introducing himself, when he expressed his love for the president, asking him for a handshake.
Little did he know that the handshake he asked for would turn into the warmest hug from the president. The moment quickly became the most heartwarming scene of the day, with Ali overcome by emotion as he embraced the president, falling into tears.
Theintimate exchange melted hearts across the internet. People couldn’t help but fall for the moment, as people reacted with emotion, praise, and admiration for both the child and the president.

January 25 marks the anniversary of the 25th of January Revolution and the National Police Day in Egypt. On this day, an annual commemoration takes place to honor the bravery and sacrifices of the country’s police. The national Police Day traces back to the historic Battle of Ismailia in 1952, when Egyptian police officers stood their ground in defense of the nation. Each year, the day serves as a moment of reflection, tribute, and national remembrance.
As part of the 74th Police Day commemoration, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi honored police martyrs and their families, recognizing their courage and sacrifices in service of Egypt, while highlighting the human stories behind the uniforms and those who gave their lives to protect the nation.
This year, the commemoration highlighted the heroic story of Colonel Rami Helal, paying tribute to his family and his ultimate sacrifice.
In February 2019, Colonel Rami Helal tracked a terrorist for 72 hours following a bomb attack in Giza. When he confronted the suspect, the terrorist detonated an explosive belt, killing Colonel Helal as he was protecting civilians and preventing further harm. His actions cemented his legacy as a symbol of courage, duty, and selflessness.
