The Assitant Minister of Local Development and the official ministry spokesperson, Dr Khaled Qasim stated on a DMC evening program that shop owners must comply with the specified closing timings.<\/div>\n
Violators may face a fine of EGP4,000<\/h2>\n
He also stated that shops operating without a license would be closed until one is obtained. The reason why shops must close at the same time is to rationalise electricity consumption.<\/p>\n
All <\/span>shops and malls must close by 11pm<\/span> on weekdays and 12am on weekends.<\/span> restaurants, cafes, and bazaars (whether in a mall or not) can remain open until 1am.<\/span><\/p>\n
Qasim also stated that authorities are working round the clock to ensure all shop owners are following the directives.<\/p>\n
