Egyptian engineer Hossam Sadiq Khalifa tragically lost his life today, Friday, after debris from an Iranian missile struck the Habshan Gas facilities in the United Arab Emirates.
The late engineer worked in the petroleum sector as part of the operational teams at one of Abu Dhabi’s critical gas production sites.
A relative confirmed the news of his death through a Facebook post, stating that he passed away just a few hours ago.
Hossam Sadiq Khalifa was a father of two, as evident from a 2023 photo he shared with his son and daughter, highlighting his family life. His personal profile also indicates that his profile picture was last updated in 2025.
He is among the first Egyptian citizens reported as casualties amid escalating military tensions linked to regional conflicts involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Earlier today, UAE authorities announced casualties and material damage after debris from an Iranian missile, intercepted over the skies of Abu Dhabi, hit the Habshan Gas facilities.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office stated that the incident resulted in the death of an Egyptian national during evacuation operations, in addition to minor injuries sustained by four others—two Pakistanis and two Egyptians.
The debris from the missile interception caused two fires within the facility, which emergency teams swiftly contained, bringing the situation under control.
Authorities confirmed that the incident caused significant infrastructure damage at the facility. Assessment operations are ongoing to determine the full extent of losses and implement necessary measures to address the aftermath.
Officials emphasized the readiness of emergency response teams to handle such incidents, ensuring rapid containment and minimizing both human and material losses.
