Before the UEFA Super Cup match between PSG and Spurs kicked off, something unusual happened. The stadium was filled with huge banners that read:

“Stop killing children”

“Stop killing civilians”

This striking message wasn’t the only thing that grabbed attention.

In a move that left many raising eyebrows, two Palestinian refugee children were invited to join UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin at the medal ceremony, thanks to a special invitation from the UEFA Foundation for Children.

Additionally, a powerful reminder of the ongoing crisis in Gaza appeared during the event: a photo of the late footballer Suleiman Al-Abed, who tragically lost his life in Gaza, was placed on the promotional poster.

This gesture was a stark message from UEFA to its European audience about the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation.

But that wasn’t all. UEFA also announced it was teaming up with humanitarian organizations to provide medical care, food kits, mental health support, and safety lessons to children in Gaza. UEFA’s social media echoed their commitment with the message: “Loud and clear.”
