Domestic Flights In Saudi Arabia Will Now Operate At Full Capacity As Social Distancing Protocols Are Eased

Avatar

With the number of new Covid-19 cases dropping below the 200-mark yesterday, the General Authority of Civil Aviation Authority (GACA) has announced that the requirement for domestic carriers to operate with social distancing protocols is lifted.

Meaning that flights will now operate at full capacity.

Earlier, on a row of three seats, it would be mandatory to leave the middle one vacant. Starting yesterday, the middle ones will also be carrying passengers.

The decision is effective from the 1st of September. However, all fliers will be required to be fully vaccinated with two doses except for children under the age of 12.

Last week, GACA lifted the direct entry ban for travelers from countries previously banned provided that they hold a residence permit and have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in the kingdom.
